MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Doctors are essential members of our society and perform miracles on a daily basis. Unfortunately, some doctors are negligent in the treatment of their patients. Brock & Gonzales, LLP represents patients who are harmed by doctors' negligence.
WHAT CONSTITUTES MEDICAL MALPRACTICE?
A doctor must use the same skill and care that other doctors would use in the same situation. Failure to do so constitutes medical malpractice.
Examples of medical practice include a doctor failing to perform a medical procedure, i.e., surgery with the same skill and care that other reasonably careful doctors would use, or a doctor who fails to timely diagnose and treat a medical condition.
WHAT IS RECOVERABLE IN A medical malpractice CASE?
- Medical expenses
- Monetary compensation for past and future pain, mental suffering, anxiety, humiliation, and emotional distress
- Lost wages from work missed as a result of the malpractice
- Punitive damages to punish the doctor, if warranted
